We still need your help

Hello, brothers and sisters in Christ.

I would like to share with you what Happened with my husband, Jefferson Cordeiro and what God did in his life.

Jefferson and I are missionaries with the manjack people in the south of Senegal, with New Tribes Mission (Vision Integrale).

At the beginning of July, my husband had an urgent surgery to remove his gallbladder in a Clinic in Senegal.

After he spent 6 days in the clinic and more two weeks of suffering because of its surgery with a lot of pain and getting worse, he went back to the clinic for exams and then his doctor told he needed to do another surgery because he got complications. His abdomen had a lot of bile liquid and an infection.

So, He did that second surgery at the end of July and the surgeon put a drain to take out the liquid.
After a few days in the clinic, my husband got even worst because of the infection and the surgeon just left him in that situation.

So, at the beginning of August, he was evacuated from Dakar to Portugal via an ambulance plane. Once he was received at the Hospital da Luz in Lisbon, he was diagnosed with a biliary peritonitis. He then underwent two interventions and it works very well. We were very thankful for the good care of the medical staff. Due to his good evolution to the treatment, he was discharged from hospital last Thursday, 16th of August.

So, the doctors here in Portugal just told us that was very important that Jefferson was able to arrive on the right time to receive proper medical help because if he had stayed more few days without proper treatment for the infection he could have died.

So, we Thank God and all of you who have interceded before our Heavenly Father for him and for our family.

He still under observation, but no longer in the hospital but in the house of a dear couple of missionaries here in Portugal.

I would like to ask you to continue to pray for Jefferson’s complete recovery, for our kids Daniel and Lucas who have been studying in Dakar and for the finances. At this moment we have half the debt, around 30,000 dollars provided. The flight and the treatment at the hospital in Portugal till right now cost 60,000 Dollars.

We believe God is faithful and He will supply it for us.

We count with your prayers and if you would like to support us with a gift you can contact the New Tribes mission secretary: 00 (221) 33 824 2321 and leave with them, or you can use our PayPal account: jeffejoa@gmail.com

May God bless you!
Joana Cordeiro
